Special Project Scientist for IWMI-Tata Project

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the position of Special Project Scientists for IWMI-Tata Project (ITP). The positions will be and based at ICRISAT Headquarters, Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India.

About IWMI: International Water Management Institute (IWMI), is a nonprofit scientific research organization, one of the 15 International Institutes under the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), with its world headquarter at Colombo, Sri Lanka. IWMI is engaged in various aspects of water and land management and has its Offices located in New Delhi and Hyderabad.

Responsibilities: Candidate will be required to;

• Conceptualize research studies within the overall thematic framework of ITP in consultation with Director, ITP.
• Formulate appropriate research methodologies in consultation with Director, ITP and conducting research studies.
• Prepare research reports and finalizing it in consultation with the Director, ITP.
• Publish articles and papers in peer-reviewed journals, and other peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed publications jointly and independently, in accordance with IWMI’s policies and procedure for publication of research outputs. One research paper/article in peer-reviewed international or national journal per year as the first author.
• Undertake tours to ITP project regions and coordinate with the monitoring of the ongoing as well as writing policy briefs from completed ITP studies.

Requirements: PhD in any one of the disciplines viz., Hydro-geology, Agricultural Economics, Development economics, Water resources/irrigation engineering/management, Environmental Sciences and Environmental Economics with 3 years of work experience in the same field. Candidates with M.Sc. degree and having substantial research experience with good publication records can also apply. Candidates must have excellent communication (written and spoken) skills and computer skills.

General: The position is initially for 2 years and can be renewed further based on the performance of the candidate and funding available. Salary and other benefits as per institutions norms.
