Leadership in Research

The returns

• Huge returns to donor investment in ICRISAT research

• Internal rates of return (IRR) range from 11 % to 65 % for different technologies — higher than IRRs from most other investments in rural development

• For example, $3 million invested by ICRISAT and the Namibian pearl millet program generated benefits with a net present value of $11 million.
