  • ICGS 21 is a short-duration spanish-type variety, bred and developed at ICRISAT Asia Center, Patancheru, India
  • selected by the variety Robut 33-1 (now known as Kadiri 3) ' NC Ac 2698 ù matures in 120 days.

Performance

  • postrainy-season pod yield under irrigation, 4.5-5.5 t ha-1; rainy-season yield under irrigation, 2.2 -4 t ha-1
  • rainy-season yield under rainfed conditions, 1.2-1.3t ha -1

Plant characters

  • erect growth habit, and sequential branching
  • no stem or peg pigmentation
  • leaves medium to large, dark green, and elliptical
  • flowers orange with yellow crescents, and garnet crescent markings.

Seed characters

  • usually has two-seeded, medium-sized pods with moderate constriction, slight to moderate beak, and slight reticulation
  • rose tan in color
  • contain 53% oil and 23% protein
