Ensuring groundwater sustainability through integrated watershed management in Medak (Telangana)

  • Increased crop yield by 13-29%
  • Groundwater recharge of 170,000 m3 or more every year by increasing groundwater storage capacity
  • Increased milk yield of 1 liter/animal/day resulting in a net income of ₹ 8,973 per day in the village, and an average net income of ₹ 4,640 per family

Improving rural livelihoods through integrated watershed management  in Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh)  and Vijayapura (Karnataka)

 

  • Water surface increase by 36,000 m3.
  • Capacity building undertaken for over 1,000 farmers.
  • Cropping intensity increased by 13-20% and crop productivity by 19-27%.
  • New livelihood options introduced: Lamb rearing and vermicomposting for women farmer self-help groups.

  • Crop management solutions increased yields by 14-22%
  • New livelihood options introduced: Raising rams, nursery management, vermicomposting, vegetable cultivation, breeding Sirohi and buck breed improvement.
