Email Privacy Standard for mailing lists from ICRISAT Communication Department (SMC)

Information / consent / confirmation you provide or received from other sources:

• Consent is obtained from Email users for purpose of sending messages.
• Consent from email users, obtained through other contracts/ arrangements/ agreements, for sending above mentioned emails, will also be added into the mentioned ICRISAT list.
• Similarly email-ids are added from ICRISAT’s other lists after the necessary consent is taken.

Information collected from you:

• ICRISAT is collecting only names, Address and email-Ids and storing into ICRISAT lists.
• Email-ids for received consents are maintained in ICRISAT lists.

Use of Information:

• ICRISAT will use email-ids from lists for sending messages on newsletters, annual reports, new initiatives, and other activities related to ICRISAT.
• Messages will be approved prior to sending by the competent authority within ICRISAT.
• Information from ICRISAT lists will not be shared with any outside users/agency.

Email retention, unsubscribe options and protection of information pertaining to ICRISAT lists:

1. Every email sent through mailing lists will have the “unsubscribe” option.   All unsubscribe requests have to be stored separately.
2. All Consents and unsubscribes will be stored separately and accessed by identified individual within SMC group.
3. ICRISAT will implement good security and secure access around ICRISAT lists, outlook contacts and other platforms used for sending bulk mails. This will be reviewed from time-to-time.
4. Every sent mail will have a disclaimer statement.
