GOBII Annual Meeting
August 8, 2017 - August 11, 2017
The Genomic Open-source Breeding Informatics Initiative works closely with CG Centers to develop open-source computational infrastructure and analysis capabilities, enabling the implementation of genomic and marker assisted selection as part of routine breeding programs for staple crops in the developing world.
Effective deployment of genomic information in breeding programs has the potential to significantly increase genetic gain in key crop performance traits. This can lead to staple crop varieties with improved yields and better adaption to growing conditions in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, bringing us closer to providing a sustainable and reliable food supply.
The annual meeting of the initiative will be held at the ICRISAT campus in Patancheru, India, between 8-11 August.
