Smart Agriculture Conclave

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, in collaboration with the Research Council UK (RCUK) and the BBSRC is organizing a two-day Smart Agriculture conclave. The main idea behind the conclave is to develop ‘FarmerZone’, a cloud-based smart agriculture initiative by the DBT. The conclave will engage national and international experts in science, policy, industry and farming to build consensus on co-designing and developing FarmerZone as a Smart Agriculture platform for smallholder farmers in India. The conclave will also focus on strengthening Indo-UK ties on research to reach food security and achieve prosperity for smallholder farmers.
Dr Suhas P. Wani of ICRISAT has been invited to be a panelist for the session titled “Understanding Small-Holder Farmer Needs: Global and National Perspectives,” on 30 August 2017 between 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. (IST) at the conclave.
