ICRISAT celebrates India’s 76th Independence Day
The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) celebrated India’s 76th Independence Day at its headquarters in Hyderabad.
Patriotic fervor engulfed the campus as Dr Arvind Kumar, Deputy Director General – Research (DDG-R) hoisted the flag. The celebrations began with a parade by the security staff of ICRISAT.
In her address, Dr Jacqueline Hughes, Director General, ICRISAT, lauded India for its diversity and drive.
“ICRISAT congratulates India on its 75th Anniversary of Independence. The dynamism of the nation, its people, and its leaders will continue to define India as a global leader and a force for positive transformation across the world. As ICRISAT celebrates its 50th anniversary ours is a shared success,” said Dr Hughes.
Seconding Dr Hughes, Dr Arvind Kumar said –
“In the recent past, India has proven its potential and ICRISAT has made a strong contribution to its growth. We should continue our contributions.”
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweets.
