Innovation Systems for the Drylands Program
Satish is an ICT4D, Knowledge Management (KM4D), and Convergent Media innovator with about ten years of hands-on practice in conceptualizing, developing and implementing technology-based solutions that enable information access and facilitate service delivery leading to sustainable development. He has led teams in developing and rolling out ICT-based initiatives to monitor and enable service delivery in development interventions. He has also developed several new media-based knowledge platforms and processes that enable knowledge outreach leading to informed decision-making. He has worked extensively with and built capacities of grassroots communities in using knowledge-driven participatory communication and technology development processes for rights-based advocacy. He has engaged and liaised with multi-sectoral international partners, donors and implementing agencies.
Satish joined ICRISAT in October 2013 to manage communications for the two global CGIAR Research Programs (Dryland Cereals and Grain Legumes) that were led by ICRISAT. Prior to joining ICRISAT, for six years, he was the Senior Manager for Radio & Convergent Media initiatives at OneWorld Foundation India, New Delhi.
Satish holds an integrated Masters in Electronic Media from Anna University, Chennai. He is a winner of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme and completed a short term course in Educational Programme Production from RNTC in the Netherlands.
Starting May 2017, Satish joined the Digital Agriculture team at ICRISAT. He is currently working on developing digital-based M&E solutions to collect and monitor agri-interventions in real time.
