Dr Edda Lungu holds a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida, a Master of Science in Food Science and a BSc in Agriculture majoring in Food and Nutrition degree from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Dr Edda has extensive experience in diet quality and diversity, nutrition assessment, dietary assessment, and food product development will be invaluable to the team. We look forward to her contributions as she provides leadership and support to both regional and global program teams.
Dr Edda has worked in academia playing a key role in food science and technology (soybean and groundnut value chains) working on food product development and linking agriculture, nutrition, and health through research in Malawi. She has worked in public sector: with the Ministry of Agriculture as a food and nutrition officer and with the Ministry of health as a Principal Nutritionist (Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture).
