Mr Atish Chandra brings decades of on-ground administrative experience as District Magistrate across six districts in Bihar, along with extensive involvement in agricultural and food systems. A 1994-batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, he has held several key roles in state and central government and served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (2018–2021), followed by a tenure as Chairman & Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India (March 2021–May 2022). He then served in the Prime Minister’s Office, first as Additional Secretary (May 2022–Aug 2025) and subsequently as Special Secretary (Aug 2025–Feb 2026).
